FACT OF THE DAY :- Not Everybody Dreams in Color

Not Everybody Dreams in Color

A full 12% of sighted people dream exclusively in black and white. The remaining number dream in full color. Studies from 1915 through to the 1950s maintained that the majority of dreams were in black and white, but these results began to change in the 1960s. Today only 4.4% of the dreams of under-25 year-olds are in black and white. Recent research has suggested that those changing results may be linked to the switch from black-and-white film and TV to color media

Nearly half a billion people in China never brush their teeth.

Nearly half a billion people in China never brush their teeth.

It is estimated that less than half of the rural population and only TEN PERCENT of Chinese city dwellers have proper dental hygiene! It's so bad that many people resort to using twigs or green tea to clean their teeth, either out of tradition or out of necessity due to poverty. Even former chairman Mao Zedong is said to have had teeth that were stained green!

Now the Chinese national committee for oral health has been encouraging people to brush and go to the dentist. Currently, for every 60,000 people in China, there is only one dentist.

'Topless' Ukrainians insulting Indian flag

MOSCOW: The Ukrainian women activists, who tore up the Indian flag in a topless act in Kiev last month to protest India's reported tightening of visa rules for young women from Ukraine, may land in jail for up to four years.

Carrying placards that read "Ukraine is not brothel" and "I am not prostitute", the women had climbed up to the balcony of the Indian ambassador's residence in the Ukrainian capital, after stripping up to the waist braving sub-zero temperatures to lodge a novel protest.

They were enraged over the Indian Foreign Ministry's reported instructions to carry out detailed checks of all Ukrainian women aged 15 to 40 seeking Indian travel visa.

An Indian media report had said that the move by New Delhi was aimed at checking the growing prostitute rackets involving women from Central Asian nations.

Russian news agency 'RIA Novosti' said, "In a first, Ukrainian topless protesters 'Femen' face a criminal case in their home country, though not over their practice of stripping in public for a good cause."

The protesters tore down the Indian flag, beat it about doors and windows and threw it on the ground. Despite temperatures of minus 4 degrees Celsius, all of them were topless.

The incident resulted in two cases opened on separate charges of hooliganism and desecration of state symbols, Ukrainian police said. No one was charged as of last evening.

Femen, media darlings due to their methods of protests, have been active since 2008, staging political protests in Ukraine and outside the country. The group declared freedom of speech and protection of women's rights as its goals.

Group members never faced criminal cases before, getting away with fines or brief arrests.

Apple working on 8 inch iPad

Apple, the California based computer and mobile equipment manufacturer, reportedly is working on a smaller version of its iPad tablet. The smaller tablet apparently will not be similar to any other tablets in the market and will feature an 8 inch display.

Wall Street Journal got the information from several of the hardware suppliers who supply components to Apple. According to the suppliers, the resolution of the new iPad will be similar to the one featured on the iPad 2 that comes with a 9.7 inch display.

The report, however, does not reveal much about the hardware configuration of the device. With theiPad 3 expected to be revealed during the upcoming Mobile World Congress, it is highly anticipated that this smaller variant will also feature a faster processor better than the one on the iPad 2 and fourth generation mobile network connectivity options as well.

With a smaller iPadApple will surely take on a bigger chunk of competition which presently is being ruled by 7 inch tablets and even the smaller 5.3 inch screen sized ones like the Samsung Galaxy Note.

But even though the suppliers hint towards the making of a new tablet there is a possibility that this product might also not reach its approval stage as Apple keeps on experimenting with various devices and features which are also scrapped if not found feasible. But hopes are high as the Mobile World Congress approaches and more light on this matter will be shed on this topic as well.

TIPS FOR PUMPING GAS IN YOUR CAR

Some Tips On Pumping Gas In Your Car:

.............................................
1.) Only buy or fill up your car or truck in the early morning when the ground temperature is still cold. Remember that all service stations have their storage tanks buried below ground. The colder the ground the more dense the petrol, when it gets warmer petrol expands, so buying in the afternoon or in the evening....your litre is not exactly a litre.
A 1-degree rise in temperature is a big deal for this business. But the service stations do not have temperature compensation at the pumps.

2.) When you're filling up do not squeeze the trigger of the nozzle to a fast mode If you look you will see that the trigger has three (3) stages: low, middle, and high. You should be pumping on low mode, thereby minimizing the vapours that are created while you are pumping. All hoses at the pump have a vapour return. If you are pumping on the fast rate, some of the liquid that goes to your tank becomes vapour. Those vapours are being sucked up and back into the underground storage tank so you're getting less worth for your money.

3.) One of the most important tips is to fill up when your Petrol tank is HALF FULL. The reason for this is the more Petrol you have in your tank the less air occupying its empty space. petrol evaporates faster than you can imagine. petrol storage tanks have an internal floating roof. This roof serves as zero clearance between the Petrol and the atmosphere, so it minimizes the evaporation. Unlike service stations, here where I work, every truck that we load is temperature compensated so that every litre is actually the exact amount.

4.) Another reminder, if there is a petrol truck pumping into the storage tanks when you stop to buy Petrol, DO NOT fill up; most likely the petrol is being stirred up as the Petrol is being delivered, and you might pick up some of the dirt that normally settles on the bottom.

WOMEN SHAPED FLOWER

It is called the Narilatha flower, which when translated in Hindi means flower in the shape of a lady. It is also called the Liyathabara Mala in local Sri Lankan dialect. The tree is also said to be found in Thailand where it is allegedly called "Nareepol."
The Narilatha flowering plant is said to grow in the hilly slopes of Himalayas in India and is understood to bloom once in two decades only; in other words it blossoms into a lady like flower after a 20-year interval.
It is believed that in times of yore the concentration of hermits and sages doing deep meditation would be shattered at the sight of these lady-shaped flowers.
The Narilatha or Liyathambara flowers said to be in the shape of a women are considered one of the most wonderful and rarest of flowers in the world.

But is it really true???? Who captured or made this? Looks to be some photo shop or even a photo editing trick?
Meanwhile a few facts have been found about ‘Naarilatha.’ It is an orchid belonging to the family Orchidaceae and comes under the Genara of Habenaria.
All Habenaria species are terrestial orchids with tubers. Around ten Habenaria species have been found in Sri Lanka out of which 5 are endemic to the island.
If any of the readers here know anything about this plant Narilatha, you are welcome to post a comment here.
